How we work
Where our information comes from, how we decide each rating, and how we fix mistakes.
Sources we rely on
We start with primary sources: a publisher's own accessibility page or feature list, official patch notes, and the support sites run by Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and Microsoft Windows. For UK help and funding we use the organisations' own websites. Every page lists the sources we read in a “Sources we checked” section at the end.
What the game ratings mean
- Yes: the publisher documents the feature.
- Partly: the feature exists but is limited, for example only some controls can be remapped, or it only applies in some modes.
- No: the official information says it is not offered.
- Not stated: we could not find it in an official source. It might still exist.
These are summaries of published information. We do not run hands-on tests, and a “Yes” is not a promise that a feature will suit every player.
Checking and dates
Each page shows the date its sources were last checked. Games and system software change with updates, so if a menu name or option looks different on your screen, the official support page is the best place to confirm it.
Opinions
Where we suggest which settings to try first, that is an editorial view based on the published features, and we say so.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email us with the page address and what you found. We check the official source and update the page and its date.
Images
All images are our own generated illustrations of generic, invented hardware and abstract shapes. They do not show real products, game art or logos.
