Following the Guiding Wind more easily

Ghost of Yōtei uses a Guiding Wind to show the way. PlayStation lists an Enhanced Wind Visibility option that makes the wind clearer, and a Wind Gust Camera option that adjusts the camera automatically to face the direction of travel. For players with low vision or difficulty orienting, these change how easy the open world is to cross.

An Offscreen Detection Indicator can be set from none to minimal, default or with HUD indicators, and a Projectile Indicator warns of off-screen attacks. Enhanced Combat Cues make attack visuals larger. We have marked high contrast as partial: these options raise visibility of specific cues, but no full high contrast mode is listed.

For players who find it hard to keep track of threats from all directions, these indicators reduce the need to scan the whole screen constantly, which can also lower fatigue during long sessions.

Simplified holds and rapid presses

Two input options cover common sources of strain. Simplified Button Holds replace holds with a single press, and Rapid Button Presses can be set to a simplified mode that removes the time limit on press sequences. Activities that use motion or the microphone, such as forging and campfire interactions, can be switched to simple button input instead.

Aim assist is available for ranged weapons, and PlayStation tags the game as playable without simultaneous presses, motion controls or vibration. The official pages we checked do not list controller remapping; the console's own button assignments, covered in our PS5 settings guide, can help in the meantime.

The Zeni Hajiki Shot Power Display shows the strength of a shot in that mini-game, replacing judgement by feel with a visible indicator. Options like this reduce reliance on fine timing, which can be helpful for players with slower reactions as well as for players who find it hard to judge pressure on a button.

Dark Flashes, the centre dot and subtitles

A Dark Flashes option replaces the bright flash from Blind Bombs with a dark screen effect, which may suit players who find sudden bright light uncomfortable. A persistent centre dot, in small, medium or large, gives a fixed focal point that some players use to reduce motion sickness.

Subtitles can have a backdrop, show speaker names and use white, yellow, blue, red or green text, and a large text mode is available. PlayStation also notes that difficulty and accessibility options do not affect trophies. The game is rated PEGI 18 for violence.

The PlayStation Store tags the game as playable without subtitles, which means important information is also conveyed in other ways, and as playable without button holds, rapid presses and the adaptive trigger effect. These tags are supplied by the publisher and summarise what is available rather than how each option works.

In our editorial view, a sensible first set-up for a player with low vision is the large text mode, a subtitle backdrop, Enhanced Wind Visibility and Enhanced Combat Cues, with the centre dot added if camera movement causes discomfort.

Comparing Ghost of Yōtei's settings with other PlayStation games

PlayStation's store tags for Ghost of Yōtei include Colour Alternatives, Visual Comfort (Basic), Volume Controls, 3D Audio, Subtitles (Basic), Clear Subtitles, Large Subtitles, Adjustable Difficulty (Advanced), Simplified Quick Time Events, Control Reminders, Tutorial Reminders, Practice Mode, Game Pausing and Manual Saving. For online play, Quick Chat and Ping Communication let players communicate without voice.

Compared with other PlayStation-published games on our list, the official documentation is shorter: there is no listed screen reader, no listed full remapping and no listed audio cue system. That does not necessarily mean those options are absent, only that they were not documented on the pages we checked, which is why we mark them unknown. If they matter, check the in-game menu and recent patch notes before buying.

Players who mainly need simpler inputs, clearer navigation and readable subtitles are well served by what is documented. Our games list lets you filter for the features you need.
